This week is is a big week for me. I work as a DJ on the side. One of the big things for DJs now is a photo booth. Normally one of these costs 3 to 5 grand to purchase. I’ve figured out how to make mine for a little over a grand. I’ve spent the last week getting parts together and constructing it. The time crunch is going to be close… I have until Saturday to finish it… but I know I shouldn’t have a problem doing that. With the introduction of a photo booth comes my introduction into local SEO.
I’ve done a little bit of SEO in the past for micro niche sites. I’ve even gotten a few results from it. When it comes to local SEO, though, I know I need to bury it. If my site is the first site people see when they search “Bismarck Photo Booth,” then I’ll be more likely to get a gig. I have a list of keywords that I need to focus on, all of them DJ related as well. I’m really curious to see just how much work I can get from Google alone.
My plan is to use effective on-page SEO, informative articles, and backlinks from press releases. I have never used press releases before. I have heard that they are great for giving a site some serious link juice, though. My thought is that me “creating” a local business is newsworthy as well, so it would be in my best interest to let the rest of the world know as well. We’ll see how all of this works in the next few months, and I will let you know what the results are.
I also have an idea for an “authority” site in the DJ niche with a serious twist to it. I will be going into details about that site as well in an upcoming article. I’m just hoping that my next post doesn’t begin with an apology from me because it’s been so long since I have posted.
